Canadian EDM duo DVBBS have been under major media scrutiny over the past week when reports first began to surface about two unconscious women who were found abandoned in the group's green room following a performance at Balaton Sound in Hungary on July 9.

The investigation remains ongoing and since, Chris Chronicles and Alex Andre (who make up the duo) were detained and eventually released from custody despite failing drug tests at the Budapest airport. Later, DVBBS were immediately dropped from the line up of Sziget, Balaton's sister festival also hosted in Hungary.

Since initial reports, Hungarian source Index has confirmed that a total of six women were escorted backstage initially and eventually involved in the incident.

The official police report (issued in Hungarian) about the investigation has been translated and states: "We concluded during our investigation that the girls may have consumed unidentified substances and that sexual offenses may have been committed against them. Siofoki Redorkapitanysag has opened an investigation against an unnamed perpetrator for the suspicion of sexual violence.

"Based on the information we gathered during our investigation and on the primary medical examination, there was no reason to suspect sexual abuse. However, to clarify this irrefutably, we ordered a second, forensic medical examination."

A backstage witness told Index that the six girls were given a bottle of unopened vodka upon arriving backstage and one girl asked one of the members of DVBBS for a cigarette, which also possibly could have been a joint.

This witness statement is consistent with reports from Blikk, which confirmed that traces of narcotics were later found in the girl's bloodstream.

Other reports have also shared vague statements from an intermediary on behalf of the girls involved which states that the girls originally went backstage in hopes to take pictures with the DJ duo and eventually "drank something" which caused them to feel "used, fooled and ambushed".

Despite not actually being in the room with the DJs and the girls involved, the Index witness observed what happened directly outside of the green room and was able to paint the picture of the scene in detail. Two girls exited the room first, "obviously feeling sick, but both conscious". After drinking water, they left the scene.

Soon after, one more girl exited the room but quickly turned around when she realized her friend had not accompanied her out. When attempting to re-enter the room, the witness explained that "the manager of the duo stood in her way and denied re-entry. The fourth girl came out crying, scared and not knowing where she was [and ran] to the bathroom."

The witness specifically pointed out that the girl "didn't seem as if she was simply drunk" when she ran out of the room.

Eventually, the third girl returned, angry and shouting in attempt to re-enter the room before finding her friend in the bathroom. Finally, a fifth girl "wobbled" out of the room and was hastily followed by the DJs, who left the festival immediately. After DVBBS departed, a sixth girl was found in lying on the floor of the room unconscious.

Further, the report states that video evidence may be in the possession of the authorities. The backstage area of Balaton was supposedly equipped with security cameras and despite the festival's press initially stating that footage could only be recorded with consent from the performers, it seems as though the police may also be using footage from mobile phones of bystanders and the women involved.

When the Somogy Megyei police force were contacted for comment, they were unable to provide details or confirmation due to the ongoing investigation.

The case remains ongoing.
