Dance System releases album and unheard track, ‘Pump It Up’

Dance System has released his debut album, ‘In Your System’, having announced it earlier this year.

Released on his own imprint, System Records, and dubbed a product of ‘all the dance music consumed over the last 22 years of being a DJ’, the album is joined by previously unheard track ‘Pump It Up’.

The bassline heavy track follows recent single ‘Shutter Trak’, an homage to Berlin’s Panorama Bar.

“With ‘In Your System’, I really wanted it to make a record strictly for the clubs that shows the depth of what I play as a DJ,” he explains. “It follows on from the end of my collaborative mixtape ‘Where’s The Party At?’, where things were getting a bit darker and twisted.

“I experimented a lot with new sampling techniques using my Akai 2600 sampler and using filters as an instrument. I definitely let the dark side of Dance System come out a lot more than what people might know me for, as I feel it matches the crazy times we are living in.

“At the end of the day though, it’s all house music - it’s made to make your body move, have fun and provide a little respite from our current situation.”

The 11 tracks on the album provide euphoric, club-driven energy which blends elements of class, filter and piano house together.

Albeit this is his debut as Dance System, he was one-half of label Night Slugs as L-Vis 1990 over a decade ago, prior to the rebirth as Dance System. 2020 saw the conception of label System Records - a home for sound the artist felt didn’t fit anywhere else.

He’s about to kick off his first world tour - hitting clubs and festivals including Glastonbury, Amnesia Ibiza and Glasgow’s Subclub.
