Comunité Festival is donating proceeds to saving coral reefs
The Mexican festival aims to help the environment and surrounding communities
From January 6 until 7, Comunité Festival is taking place in Tulum, Mexico and it's announced that there will be an option for ticket buyers to donate towards helping coral reef conservation.
This year's festival prides itself on being 100 per cent vegan, without serving animal products, and aims to reduce negative impacts on the environment as well as give back to the surrounding communities which let the festival take place.
Last year Comunité donated its proceeds to building clean water systems for eight families in the nearby area. This year the event is working to preserve the existing coral reefs in the Caribbean, which has already lost 80 per cent of its reef from overfishing and acidification. When buying tickets, buyers will have the option to donate $5 towards the coral reef cause.
Comunité is organised by local Mexican people, including Juan who is head of Boiler Room LATM, and the line-up will see the likes of Omar-S, Avalon Emerson (pictured), Sonja Moonear, Kyle Hall and more on the decks.
