Coma

Despite their name, Coma do not make music that'll put you to sleep. And although they're downtempo, the Cologne duo certainly aren't ambient, with their second album falling on the poppier side of Kompakt's output. It's a lush, melodic and electronic creature, built on basslines that are both gigantic and as sweetly warm as hot chocolate, especially on the throbbing techno monster 'Poor Knight'. There are songs, such as the Dillon-sung 'The Wind', but more commonly (and more effectively), a snippet of vocal, such as the soprano on 'Borderline' or plaintive voices of 'The Sea', is wound into something rich and gorgeously orchestrated. In short, 'This Side Of Paradise' is delicious.
