Cocky drug user tells police their dealer's ripping them off

The unnamed complainant rang 999 early this morning

As the calls for drug decriminalisation keep rolling in, even the police are having a giggle about some dabblers' recreational use.

Early this morning, a London sergeant told his Twitter followers that he'd received a call from a miffed drug user grassing up their dealer for being overcharged or undersold.

Sergeant Richard Berns, serving the Brownswood ward in Hackney, East London, tweeted: "A caller just rang 999 to report their drug dealer keeps ripping them off and they're fed up with it."

We don't know the exact drug the caller was talking about but the police must have had more important matters on their hands as Berns responded "no" when asked if an arrest was being made, saying the call "amused me a bit".

Unsurprisingly, this led to a load of tweets saying the laidback attitude of Berns only strengthened the case for drug legalisation, something being pushed for by Richard Branson, Ireland and MPs in Australia.

Most of the replies to his tweet are positive, but there's always one trying to put a stop to the fun.
