CLUB CHAI have released a second compilation album

Oakland-based curatorial project, record label and event series CLUB CHAI have released a new compilation album alongside an upcoming archive book.

The compilation features original tracks from founders 8ULENTINA and Lara Sarkissian, as well as from DJ Plead, Bored Lord and Loris. There are 18 original productions included on the compilation.

The archive book attempts to give shape and physical form to the fleeting feelings and memories collected at CLUB CHAI events over the years. It is, according to the press release, ‘a way to honor the project’s complexity and intimacy.

‘Being on the dancefloor with friends, singing in unison or zoning out in complete bliss. It feels right to create something physical that can be held, touched and encountered slowly and carefully.’

‘CLUB CHAI Vol. 2’ was released on January 28. The book is currently available to preorder.

CLUB CHAI were founded in 2016 by 8ULENTINA and Lara Sarkissian as a way to centre diasporic artists and honour the transformative power of storytelling through music. They hold regular events in Oakland and San Francisco.
