The Lab Los Angeles is Mixmag and Smirnoff Sound Collective's weekly post-work unwind where we stream only the finest American and international DJs, live and direct from our Downtown LA office. This Friday, we welcome Classixx into The Lab LA.

Los Angeles natives Michael David and Tyler Blake came together in 2005, flying first under the moniker Young Americans before officially becoming Classixx three years later.

Both come from a history of musical backgrounds - a rock band and time spent at Berklee School of Music, respectively - and are fresh off the release of their latest album 'Faraway Reach', the follow-up to their 2013 output 'Hanging Gardens'.

'Faraway Reach' features Passion Pit's Michael Angelakos, T-Pain and How To Dress Well. Grab the album here.

On opening duties, we welcome LA-based duo George Cochrane and Drew Kramer as Wild & Free. Hear their latest single 'River of Nile' here.

The Lab LA is strongly powered by Void Acoustics. Tune into our Facebook page to watch Classixx in The Lab LA starting Friday 8pm PST.

The Smirnoff Sound Collective is all about bringing fans closer to the DJs, providing up and coming talent with a solid platform and throwing unique events where fans and artists can party together. Check out more from the Sound Collective here
