Chet Faker shares track inspired by New York blizzard
'In-Between' samples NYC mayor Bill de Blasio's press conference
New York-based Australian producer and vocalist Chet Faker has shared a new track from the depths of a serious snow storm that hit the US on the weekend.
The ambient 'In-Between' served as both a soothing tonic and PSA for residents trapped indoors, sampling a press conference from New York City mayor Bill de Blasio in which he warned of the blizzard's severity and declared a state of emergency, over a guitar loop and synthesisers.
The Melbourne-native is currently working on the follow up to 2014's 'Built On Glass' LP and collaborative work with Marcus Marr from his Brooklyn home studio.
At least 19 people died as a result of the blizzard, the second biggest in NYC's history, and an estimated 85 million residents in New York and Washington were affected by the 68 centimetres of snow and harsh conditions recorded.
Check out 'In-Between' below.
