Calvin Harris tops Forbes DJ rich list... again
Calvin Harris is the world's highest paid DJ for the second year in a row
Calvin Harris must be loving life. He's the world's richest DJ (again), according to Forbes. He's now topped the American business magazine's DJ rich list for the second year in a row, beating off the likes of Avicii and Guetta.
Last year he earned a staggering $46m but that figure has now shot to $66m in the 12 months since. He's not only the world's richest DJ; he's also the second richest UK musician under 30 and a 'powerful' celebrity, all according to Forbes. Not bad, we'll give you that Cal.
The DJ rich list is put together using estimates of how much artists earn from gigs, merchandise, endorsements, external business ventures and, yup, sales of actual music. See the full list below.
Interesting developments include: the lowest earned amount in the top 10 is now $16m, up from $13m last year, Deadmau5 and Tiësto have slipped down while Avicii has rocketed up to number 3 (from 6) and DJ Pauly D no longer makes the list (thank god).
