Buenos Aires attempts to close down nightclubs after Time Warp deaths
But nightclub owners are resisting
Five deaths were reported after Time Warp Argentina which took place on April 15. Following the tragedy, the government of Buenos Aires were quick to take action, first placing a ban on electronic music festivals until a reevaluation of the country's drug laws and also arresting Time Warp Argentina's organizers.
The Argentinian capital now sees a controversial stand-off between the city's government and its nightclub and nightlife owners. The government has issued a closure of all nightclubs following the deaths, but reportedly the club owners are promising to ignore the command.
"It's like shutting the vegetable store because you found food poisoning at the butcher shop,"said Jorge Becco, head of the chamber of discotheque owners of the city in a television interview.
