BT
Electronic Opus
8/10
Last year saw the release of 'Classical Trancelations 2', in which Finnish composer Lowland reworked trance tracks such as 'Offshore', 'Airwave' and 'Carte Blanche' into a classical composition.
And now BT's doing the same thing, rearranging 14 of his tunes with a full orchestra. Unlike Lowland's album, though, this isn't completely classical, and BT's signature cut-up style is still present on the likes of 'Dreaming'. Tracks like 'Flaming June', 'Love Comes Again' and 'Skylarking', meanwhile, are also reworked into an exploration of classical arrangements, electronic dance frequencies and experimental sound editing techniques, adding even more drama to his already powerful singles.
BT fans will love this album – the fact that 2,177 fans contributed more than $250,000 to help fund it says it all.
