BoomTown Festival evacuates campsite following a car park fire
Over 60 cars were set ablaze
BoomTown Fair Festival is currently ongoing in Winchester, but has been forced to evacuate its campsite due to a car park fire which broke out earlier today.
At least 14 vehicles were initially caught in the blaze, and the Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service brought six pumps to put out the fire and advised attendees to stay far from the area.
The fire has now been contained, but not before destroying approximately 60 vehicles. An investigation will take place over the next few days to determine the exact cause of the fire.
No injuries have been reported as of publication. Photos of the fire show an enormous plume of dark, grey smoke rising from the car park grounds.
