Boofy's self-titled debut for Bandulu has been a long time coming, but everything about this EP smacks of a producer with the bit between his teeth. A key member of the Bristol crew, his sound is fierce and robust, delivering its biggest blows with snarling, freeze-dried synths and ghoulish, haunting FX rather than the full-tilt, rising dread of some of his counterparts. 'Mask & Glove' is our pick; an all-out, unnerving grime assault on the senses, its scary, swirling synths the perfect foil for bursts of cannon-like bass that catch you off guard. Mad!
