A new event will explore "The Club As Sanctuary"

Errol Anderson and Alex Rita's Touching Bass musical movement will host an event, Black Home: The Club As Sanctuary, on December 6 at Clerkenwell's Free Word Centre.

The night, which couples music and discussion, will honour the critical contributions of black and LGBTQI+ folx to London's music culture and emphasise the need for intergenerational spaces, allowing for an environment that brings together a broad range of experiences and perspectives.

The discussion, which will be led by Touching Bass/BBZ's Yewande Odunubi, will feature CDR's Tony Nwachukwu and BBZ's Naeem Davis; this will be bookended by poetry from Kai-Isaiah Jamal and MA.MOYO.

The night will end with a dance, soundtracked by Errol and Alex Rita, Nwachukwu, and Sippin' T.

This event forms part of Free Word's Writing Our Way Home season which explores the politics of 'home'.
