Introducing Black Eyewear
Check out this Jazz inspired glasses brand
Black Eyewear is the brainchild of Robert Roopes, a lifetime jazz enthusiast who created the brand to pay homage to some of the genres celebrated musicians from 1940 to 1960.
Initially launching as a pop-up in London’s Goodge Street in 2013, vintage-inspired frames fast gained a cult following, gaining Black Eyewear permanent residence at its Flagship Fitzoria store, as well as an additional store in St Albans.
Mixing vintage aesthetic with contemporary design, each style takes reference from classic eyewear worn by iconic jazz musicians such as Miles Davis, Thelonious Monk, Duke Ellington and John Coltrane.
To date, the collection includes over 100 styles of glasses and sunglasses in large, bold styles and vibrant colourways – including the extra large frame, ‘Miles’, which takes reference from the trumpeter, bandleader and composers recognisable choice of frames.
