Bicep are set to release their eponymous debut album via Ninja Tune on September 1.

The 12-track release is packed full of the raw, high-energy rave sounds that have defined the Belfast-born, London-based duo’s sets and output over the years and seen them soar to prominence to stand among the UK’s most popular artists.

Featuring on the tracklist is ‘Aura’, which has been sending shockwaves through dancefloors across the world of late and been the subject of track ID clamour across the internet, known until now only as “Unreleased Bicep”.

Speaking about the track, the pair comprising Matt McBriar and Andy Ferguson said: “It was a happy experiment… you might call it an accident. We’d been playing with this specific and very complicated gear-chain for a while but nothing worked, or didn’t feel musical enough… then it all just fell into place and ‘Aura’ appeared.”

Talking about linking up with Ninja Tune for the release, McBriar noted “it’s important to be part of a label that looks broadly at music. Ferguson added: “We felt no restrictions at Ninja to be pigeonholed.”

Bicep are also heading out on an extensive world tour in support of the record, including stops at Glastonbury, Dekmantel, Contact in Tokyo, Pacha Ibiza, and more. Pre-sale opens at 10am on June 21, head to Bicep’s website for further details.
