Beyond The Wizards Sleeve

Erol Alkan’s Phantasy imprint has always been our go-to for something a little different and over the last 12 months the output has been stellar. Kamera has exploded out of nowhere to stun and destroy, Cowboy Rhythmbox have been slaying soundsystems the world over and Daniel Avery returned to the frame with a newly polished techno edge.

Now it’s time for the boss to return, but this time he’s back alongside Richard Norris for more Beyond The Wizards Sleeve action. The psychedelic pairing have always strayed from the beaten track and their latest, ‘Diagram Girl’, is taken from a forthcoming album that we’re very excited about.

The blissed-out and emotive cut is a down-tempo journey through mystical synths and echoed vocals that hypnotise and enlighten in equal measures.

It’s pretty damn epic and shows off the pair’s ability to create compositions that cut deeper than your average.

Their re-animation adds a kick and some dancefloor sensibility but it’s the original that we’ve been drifting away to. Exceptional.
