Berlin’s Anomalie Art Club to close, announces redevelopment
The venue will reopen under new management in May after being rebuilt
Berlin nightclub and live music venue Anomalie Art Club has announced its closure.
The venue shared the news on Instagram last week (April 16), confirming that it will close for redevelopment – but will return under a new name and new management next month.
“It’s official. After 12 years of unforgettable nights and raw energy, it’s time to say goodbye,” they announced. “Anomalie is closing.”
The venue – situated on Storkower Straße in Prenzlauer Berg – will reopen under the name DSTRKT, and is set to be managed by the HIVE Festival crew, an event taking place annually just south of Berlin.

“The venue is being rebuilt – raw and ready for impact,” they explained. “Boiler Room stage setups. More chill zones. More toilets. This isn’t a comeback. It’s a new beginning.”
Described as the “intersection between the raw energy of Berlin’s underground and innovative event formats”, DSTRKT promises to bring a new concept to Berlin clubbing.
The venue is currently under construction as new facilities are added. The first event scheduled to go ahead at the newly revamped space will take place on Friday, May 9.

Bookings for forthcoming events include the likes of Angerfist, Gabber Eleganza, Afem Syko, ALT8, soraya, DJ Sweedee, NOTMYTYPE, and more.
“You’ve probably already noticed – we’ve made some serious changes since our NYE debut. This is just the beginning,” they said. “Step by step, we’re leveling up the venue, and we’re not stopping.”
