A new programme from the Berlin Senate will give young people in the city €50 to go clubbing in the capital.
Launched by the Berlin Senate Department for Culture and Europe, the Jungendkulkarte is a pre-paid card, which can be used to cover entrance fees for participating clubs, as well as a range of other cultural activities such as the theatre, museums and the cinema, DJMag reported.
To get their hands on one, people must have proof of address at the city and register online. For more information and to register, click here.

The card will be valid from February 1 to April 30, and also available to non-German residents in the city, with the cards then being able to be picked up from a range of libraries in the city.
The Berlin Club Commission, which represents a number of key clubs and parties in the city, celebrated the news on Instagram. In a post it wrote: “@jungendkulturkarte.berlin has launched today and we are happy that clubs are part of it.

“Obviously you can go to the opera or museum with Jungendkulturkarte but we have clear preferences,” it continued.
The scheme has been launched in the face of Berlin’s cultural sector facing increasing pressures, as the cost of living rises, and a huge demand for housing in the city seeing rents increase at rates not normally seen in the German capital.
In a statement translated by Mixmag, the Culture Senator Klaus Lederer commented on the importance of the card. He said: “Participation in art and culture for all Berliners is very important to me.
“The youth culture card for 18 to 23-year-olds is aimed at a young audience who are just getting to know Berlin’s diverse cultural landscape after the restrictions of recent years,” he continued. “We have been able to make one or the other cultural experience possible with the youth culture card that might otherwise have not been possible.”
