Berlin nightclub Re:mise (previously Fiese Remise) has announced its closure from November 20, citing lease extension issues and gentrification.

The club will celebrate its final week from November 13 - 20, 2023, with acts including Lovefoxy, Aexhy, 131bpm b2b Camilla Rae, Alexander Kowalski, and more.

Re:mise announced the news of its closure yesterday, November 1, on Instagram. A statement from the club reads: “We have some sad news to share. Our current lease expires in November 2023.”

“Despite all our efforts to get an extension from our landlord, no further offer for a lease extension has been offered to us,” they added. “This leaves us no choice but to close our current location at the end of November.”

“We are heartbroken,” Re:mise said. “After all, we’ve invested a lot and countless hours of hard work and dedication into Re:mise to make it what it is today. Negotiations regarding our lease duration have been ongoing since the early stages of the year,” they said. “But now it’s officially over”.

Re:mise, which was previously named Fiese Remise before reopening in 2021, has said it will look at reopening in another location in the city. “We want to emphasise: This simply means that our current location is closing,” they said. “It’s not about whether we will reopen, but when and where we will reopen.”

“We are determined to fight for the club culture and open spaces in Berlin and once again operate a place for people who shape the unique nightlife of Berlin, making it accessible to people from all walks of life.”
