When you think of Ben Sims, you think of bone-crushing techno that devastates and excites with every beat. We've seen the UK producer in action several times and although it's not an experience for the faint-hearted, it's one that showcases why Sims is one of the best techno DJs in the game.

When he's not melting faces and bruising eardrums, Sims adopts his Ron Bacardi alias and while this isn't very frequent, it's always welcomed. With his house and disco-flecked moniker, he's released via Karlovak, Bass Culture Records and his own imprint Hardgroove and for his latest release he returns to his label with a fantastic four-tracker.

The 'Need Somebody' EP comes with with three original tracks and a remix of the title cut. We've got the premiere of Borrowed Identity's rework and trust us when we say this is a golden slice of bumping house.

The German-Romanian producer is another artist who can change his style depending on vibe and mood and his remix is the stand-out on the record.

The piano chords are lifted from the original and introduced early on with fierce stabs, while smooth vocal cuts glide over the top. The kick drums are heavy and spread liberally throughout and the melodies, well they're just damn beautiful. We've had this one on repeat, you will too.

The 'Need Somebody' EP from Ben Sims pres. Ron Bacardi will be released on April 4
