Ben Pearce returns to DJing this weekend
Depression caused him to cancel gigs this summer
After cancelling his July shows due to depression, Ben Pearce is back DJing this weekend, playing at Pratersauna in Vienna.
The 'What I Might Do' producer took to Facebook in July to describe to tell fans he was taking time out to "make an attempt at recovery towards leading a healthy mental state."
Last night, he wrote on Facebook to thank those who've offered him support in the last few months and explain where he's at right now.
"I just want to say a huge thank you to anyone who commented on my previous post and sent messages. I will try to reply to them but I have read most and they mean an awful lot. I'm back DJing this weekend in Vienna, it's a big step but a small one for now in terms of touring but I'm feeling good about it.
"Just wanted to let you guys know and say thanks for all the positivity. New music should be on the way soon. Three months ago I never thought I would even get to where I am now, it's not the end of the road I know but what I've done has made a huge difference"
The Purp & Soul boss finished off the post by offering advice to others suffering with mental health issues.
"Finally to anyone out there who is struggling: don't be ashamed or afraid get help, talk about it, trust in your friends and family and love yourself, do anything that makes you smile. You can beat it, it will pass and even if it never goes away, sometimes seeing the world from that angle forms who you are as a person and gives you a clarity you might not have had before."
