The BBC is holding an auction of rare vinyl and audio equipment from its archive

The BBC is set to auction off a collection of rare vinyl, merchandise and audio equipment from its archives.

The in-house auction, which will be run exclusively by music memorabilia and vinyl specialists Omega Auctions, is set to kick off on January 30 — with online bidding already having commenced.

“This does not constitute the entirety of the BBC’s vinyl archive, which is very much still intact. This is largely the duplicate copies of LPs – so that the collection can be moved and better stored for the future,” reassures the auction house.
