ASICS’ Gel Kayano has been at the centre of many collaborations over the years, but now New York’s AWAKE have teamed up with the trainer brand to bring us the Gel Kayano 5 360.

Blending the sole technology of the Gel Quantam and the upper of the iconic Gel Kayano 5 OG, AWAKE’s iterations come in two distinct colourways.

The first in a silver and green palette - a flash back to Flushing Meadows, New York - and a black and gold colourway, which references AWAKE’s Creative Director, Angelo Basque’s, time in Paris.

Growing up, Basque said he used to watch North and West African’s wear their ASICS differently, with tracksuits and trousers, as opposed to using them purely as runners. This is said to be something he used when designing his own iteration.

ASICS x AWAKE NY Gel-Kayano 5 360 are available now from both ASICS and AWAKE in limited amounts.
