Auntie Flo

Over the years, Brian D'Souza's Auntie Flo project and his Huntley's + Palmer family have spawned groundbreaking club nights in Glasgow and London, record labels and a Rinse FM radio show, offering a rare platform for DJs from all over the planet. Now aided by an army of collaborators that includes Cuban session musicians, South African house producer Esa and Ghanaian vocalist Anbuley, Auntie Flo's second LP melds ecstatic, joyful house with the rhythms and flow of African and Latin American music. 'Dance Ritual II' glues Italo-house pianos onto the angular rhythms of shangaan electro and Anbuley's raw vocals. D'Souza sees his music as part of Afrofuturism. His idea of the future, you feel, is a beautiful place.
