Asa & Sorrow

Asa & Sorrow have taken on cult status over the last few years, staying off radar but fully on track. ‘Knights Of Ren’, their latest for Joker’s Kapsize imprint, is a tribute to that premise, as enchanting opener ‘Island Wave’ – a track riddled with crunchy bass sounds but countered by super-hushed female vocals and gorgeous, blissed-out melodies – can attest.

The title track, on the other hand, is all blistering, low-end club fire, while final cut ‘Barbaric’ does exactly what it says on the tin. Bristol heavyweights Hi5ghost & Lemzly Dale turn in a haunting, deconstructed ‘Knights Of Ren’ flip to finish off, too. Mad!
