The hand-carved pieces are commanding big prices

Award-winning sculptor Daniel David is selling giant stone sculptures of ecstasy pills, some commanding prices of up to £1,000.

The Norwich-based artist creates the sculptures out of white Portland stone or pink Locharbriggs sandstone, hand carving well-known brand logos like Apple, Playboy, Mitsubishi and Rolex into each massive pill.

As the sculptures of ecstasy pills might be controversial to some, a spokesperson for David cleared the air on the vision behind the concept in a statement to MailOnline: “Daniel is in no way promoting the use of ecstasy. He is simply reflecting '90s dance culture through his artwork”.

The sculptures vary in size, with smaller pieces available to purchase for £100. View a selection of Daniel David’s ecstasy pill sculptures in the gallery above.
