Artificial Intelligence
Emotion-laced collaboration with Dublin-based vocalist Steo
Five years since their first album ('Stand Alone'), drum 'n' bass pair Artificial Intelligence are back with their second this month.
Glenn Herweijer and Zula Warner have been regulars on Metalheadz since 2012 - including a joint 12" with Jubei and this year's 'Forgotten Truths' EP - so it's no surprise the record, 'Timeline', is arriving on Goldie's 20-year-old label.
You'll probably remember their 'yes-man' gem 'Desperado' on V Records from back in the day and the album's full of similarly soul-soaked tunes, counting DRS, Terri Walker, the still unidentified Dawn Wall and Irish vocalist Steo as collaborators.
The latter's collaboration, 'Take You There', may well be our favourite. The bassline's blisteringly buzzy and searing but Steo provides the drum 'n' bass romance with his longing "as long as I'm there with you, take me there with you" vocals. Heads up, emotional crew.
'Timeline' is released via Metalheadz on November 20
