Ara Koufax have no 'Shame' on new two-track release
Stream the latest from the Melbourne duo
Melbourne's Ara Koufax have shared two new tracks, 'Shame' and 'Shades of Blue,' recorded using a new addition to their synthesizer collection.
Speaking of the release, the duo said: "Both were made over a couple of summer days in a stinking hot studio. We had stumbled across a piece of gear - the Roland System 100 - and these tracks are the result of us learning how to use it.
"We usually write at home, so we could try a whole new approach with these - recording long, improvised takes at a volume that'd usually get the neighbours riled up. We didn't realise until later that pretty much everything recorded with a microphone has the sound of a shit fan and an air compressor going off in the factory next door."
The pair have also just been announced for Splendour in the Grass, and will play Melbourne's Rubix Warehouse on May 12.
