Andrew Weatherall film Sail We Must is out next week

A new short film based on the story of Andrew Weatherall's meeting with an Irish fisherman will be available to watch on Mixmag.net next week, on the anniversary of the seminal producer's passing.

The film from studio The Tenth Man follows a lone Cork fisherman meeting a traveller and exchanging tales of the sea. This reflects the meeting of Andrew Weatherall and fisherman Gerard Sheehy.

The film title echoes Andrew Weatherall’s ‘Fail We May, Sail We Must’ track title and has been directed Grizzly.

The film also features Cian Ó Cíobháin, who was involved in finding Gerard, as well as Andrew’s close friend and collaborator Sean Johnston.

“We can’t thank those closest to Andrew enough for allowing us to create this film,” says Eric Davidson of The Tenth Man. “This is a celebration of club culture, dance music, and the cultural ties that bind us all together. But more importantly, it’s a celebration of a once in a generation artist, Andrew Weatherall.”

Sail We Must will be screened on February 16 in The Sugar Club, Dublin with a live discussion between Cian Ó Cíobháin, Johnny Moy, and Billy Scurry about Andrew’s links to Ireland, as well as a DJ set from Billy Scurry inspired by Andrew’s life.
