Darren Cunningham, better known under his DJ moniker Actress, is set to release a new record next month titled ‘Dummy Corporation’.

The long-awaited four-track EP lands on Ninja Tune on November 11, and will feature a monumental 19-minute opening track.

Marking Actress’ first solo release in more than two years since his 2020-released LP ‘Karma & Desire’, ‘Dummy Corporation' maps a more club-focused sound for the producer.

"The overall idea is for this to be a demonstration of the process and the philosophical action art of creating modern-day electronic music,” he says on the new EP. Actress notes that the project also touches on fond childhood memories of programming, cassette tapes and floppy disks.

The next record also brings visual elements to the table, seeing him intertwine art from the real world with his productions.

“I create these sketches, essentially like the fabrics, and I collage them together...once I see the picture it’s embellished further and the process repeats,” he says.

The first track released from the forthcoming record, ‘Dream’, is a 9-minute cut layering a minimal 4/4 beat with a mesmeric vocal hook and synth loops. Listen to it below.

‘Dream’ comes hot on the heels of Actress’ collaborative track with Mount Kimbie’s Kai Campos, ‘AZD SURF’, where the producer took the reigns and embedded his own unique sound.

'Dummy Corporation' is out on November 11 via Ninja Tune. Pre-order it here, and find the EP’s tracklist below.

1. Dummy Corporation
2. Futur Spher Techno Version
