Actor Alan Cumming has announced he is opening a club in the East Village of New York City which is said to be called Club Cumming, according to Page Six.

The Manhattan resident will be replacing a gay bar on East 6th Street called Eastern Bloc with his new club that will open later this year in September. Not to take away from the bar’s existing presence, Cumming will partner with Eastern Bloc’s owners Benjamin Maisani and Darren Dryden, along with a promoter named Daniel Nardicio.

Club Cumming is reported to showcase "a mixture of performance, DJs [and] theme nights and as eclectic and unexpected as Alan himself", said the actor’s representative.

The concept for Club Cumming originated while the actor was a part of the Broadway musical Cabaret. Cumming’s dressing room would be transformed into a hotspot that even had a doorman. He would later host pop-ups of the concept in New York, Los Angeles, New Orleans, and Edinburgh.

His representative went on to describe what he hopes the club will be: “Alan wants it to be a home for everyone of all ages, all genders, all sexualities, who all enjoy letting go and making some mischief. No judgments, no attitude, no rules, except kindness, acceptance and fun.”

Many will recognize Cumming from his roles in films like Spy Kids, X-Men 2 and GoldenEye as well as the TV series The Good Wife.
