Leading up to the release of their highly anticipated new album, Gorillaz have been sharing fascinating multimedia stories with each one focusing on a different band member. Today they share the final installment, ‘The Book of 2D’.

Hype for the forthcoming album has been steadily building ever since the band’s rebranded website and Instagram account surfaced. Since then they have been highly active on social media, sharing a retrospective collection of images as well as these bizarre short stories.

Following suite with the previous tales, ‘The Book of Noodle’, ‘The Book of Murdoc’ and ‘The Book of Russel’, the latest story picks up with the account of 2D after the attack on Plastic Beach. He somehow finds himself in the belly of a whale, at a beach rave and finally in West London where he reunites with his fellow bandmates.

So far the forthcoming album is without an official release date, but last week Damon Albarn, the real man behind the music, said it would be done in two weeks. Confirmed collaborators include De La Soul, Snoop Dogg, composer Jean Michel-Jarre and Vic Mensa.

Read through the tweets below to get the full story of 'The Book of 2D' and look for more news regarding the album coming soon.
