The Internet exploded with reactions to Fyre Festival's rapid downfall that happened late last night as its first batch of attendees arrived to dismal conditions, a far reach from the promised luxurious suites, yacht and fine dining amenities.

The news continued rolling out on Twitter with the #FyreFestival hashtag and has since generated hilarious memes and reactions from people all around the world observing the "influencer" festival's outcome.

The festival has since been cancelled, including its chartered flights to the "private island" from Miami which attendees had already paid for. Several of the island's first visitors were trapped on planes and in holding rooms in the Bahamas for hours, waiting to go home.

The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism has issued an official statement explaining their "disappointment" with the way the festival was organized, confirming that they were never and are not an official sponsor of the event and have also confirmed that representatives are on the grounds helping attendees find their way home.
