Search the word 'music' on Pinterest and there's a high likelihood that you'll come across endless cringeworthy memes detailing 'music is my drug'. It's true for some, but not for all.
It's not a given, but drugs and dance music are intrinsically linked. All you've got to do is do a quick YouTube search for raves back in the day and you'll know straightaway Lucozade wasn't the only stimulant for many.
Remember, cocaine was a favourite for many at 1970s disco hub Studio 54, ecstasy use is still rife on dancefloors (especially in Ireland) and songs about ecstasy have been made.
