A masterclass in deep, pumping and stripped-back house

Mixmag and BUDX are proud to partner to bring you the newest destination of the Lab this winter: The Lab Paris.

On November 06 we will bring Varhat b2b Janeret, Julian Alexander b2b Samuel Deep aka Ingi Visions and a secret guest to The Lab at La Verrière, located in the bustling and historic District 10 of Paris.

Varhat and Janeret are both representative artists of Yoyaku, the well-known Parisian label, record store and agency. In just short amount of time, they have become recognized as established producers and DJs, but also as ambassadors of the French minimal scene. Aside from releasing on Yoyaku and its sub-labels, Varhat has released acclaimed EPs on Mule Records, Howl Records and Cabanne's Polyson, while Janeret's wickedly popular material can be found on Berg Audio, DJ Steaw's Rutilance, Finale Sessions and more. When not in the studio, both artists are known as true diggers who spend countless hours in record stores, uncovering rare dancefloor gems. With such a unique approach, today they are seen as festival headliners, together or separately.

Samuel Deep and Julian Alexander, also known as Ingi Visions are brothers hailing from the Netherlands who have steadily become underground favorites. They started SlapFunk in 2009 by throwing their own illegal outdoor forest rave, and in 2012 launched the label with a split ‘Raw Joints’ EP featuring Malin Genie, Daniele Temperilli, Anil Aras and Samuel Deep. This unveiled their sonic ethos to the world, showcasing a raw, powerful, jacking style of house music. The label has also forayed into murky UK garage territory on tracks such as Samuel Deep’s bass-loaded edit of Grobbie’s ‘Headshot’, which does irreparable damage on the dancefloor and receives regular rotation from the likes of Ryan Elliott, Bicep and Loco Dice.

All of the sets will be streaming on Facebook so if you're not lucky enough to attend the event, never fear, we got you covered.
