TSHA selects five producers who will define the next generation

To celebrate the release of her fabric presents mix, TSHA highlights the emerging artists you should be checking out

In just a few short years on the electronic circuit, TSHA has already made some serious waves.

After making both her Mixmag cover and Lab debuts last year, plus the release of her EP 'OnlyL' on Ninja Tune — she's now gone on to create her very own fabric presents mix, which dropped earlier this month.

The compilation taps into everything and everything contained within the electronic music spectrum: ‘90s dance, to house, to techno, to UKG, to soul, to bass — showcasing her ingenuity as a selector, meandering between fresh club cuts with classic rave euphoria.

She wanted the majority of the tracks featured in her fabric compilation to be from artists who are still up-and-coming — with a focus on spotlighting emerging artists in the same way Bonobo highlighted her track 'Sacred' in his fabric presents compilation in 2018.

To celebrate the release of her fabric presents mix, TSHA has compiled a list of some of the most exciting production talent making electronic right now — check them out below.

Ela Minus

Ela is a Columbian electronic producer and singer who first came to my attention when I was asked to do a remix for her in early 2020. I immediately said yes! She has such lush and clean production, incredible drum programming (she is a drummer) and lyrics that tell a story and that I could connect with, as well as a gorgeous tone to her voice. Her album 'Acts of Rebellion’ is in my top five favourite albums.

Elkka

Elkka is one of my favourite producers. I first met Elkka in 2019 but had been aware of her and the music she creates for months prior. I have been following her career and music since the day that I met her. At this point, she is hardly new on the scene — but I feel she is now beginning to blossom and get the recognition she deserves. I love the way she samples her own vocals and creates club driven tracks that sound just as good at home.

Effy

Effy is a UK based producer who creates hybrids of techno and breakbeat. She often has a nostalgic feel with nods to artists like The Prodigy in her sound. Even though her catalogue isn’t massive, every one of her releases so far have been a certified club banger. She brings additional layers to her music too, of self- expression and artistic flair.

WTCHCRFT

WTCHCRFT is a techno artist based in the US that shares the love of acid with me. He is a fast-growing force in the underground dance scene of New York. His songs have a dark, but sexy feel to them! When I was sent his track ‘Uhmm’ I knew instantly that I had to include it in my fabric mix compilation!

UNCLE KNOWS

UNCLE KNOWS is an Irish producer and DJ who first sent me his EP ‘Merlin’ on Soundcloud a year ago. I instantly fell in love with the nostalgic feel and references of his music. The reggae dub samples took me back to my childhood home in the ‘90s when my brother would be practising DJing in my living room. He has continued to produce absolute tunes ever since and I can’t wait to get an email from him sharing more tunes!
