These are the parties you need to hit at ADE this week
Trust us, these raves will go OFF
Every October, Amsterdam becomes even more of a clubbing hotspot than usual as thousands of party-hungry ravers descend on the Dutch capital for ADE. Amsterdam Dance Event marks its 20th year as one of the premier music conferences in the world and the healthy mix of parties, panels and workshops has got us frothing at the mouth once again.
This year there are over 2,200 artists flying over to play and some of the raves look pretty outrageous. Want to see your favourite DJ this week in the Dam? Chances are they're playing somewhere and it's more than likely the rest of the line-up will be pretty large. But how are you supposed to navigate this mine-field of incredible parties? This is where we come in.
We've gone through our calendar and picked out the parties you need to be hitting. Here's our pick of this year's fine crop. Amsterdam, we're ready for you
Wednesday
What: Black Coffee & Friends
Where: Radion, Louwesweg 1, 1066 EA Amsterdam

What's Special: South Africa's national hero and worldwide sensation Black Coffee couldn't be on more of a hot streak. He appeared on our cover back in August and his extended Mixmag Live set has gone down as one of the best. He brings along some of his friends and fellow DJs to kickstart ADE in a truly tribal fashion

What: Atjazz
Where: Radion, Louwesweg 1, 1066 EA Amsterdam
Who's Playing: Atjazz, Karizma, Osunlade, John Agesilas, Si Tew
What's Special: Also taking place at the same time and at the same club as Black Coffee & Friends is the Atjazz Records shindig. Martin Atjazz has been supplying the world with the very finest house cuts for a long time now and with the likes of Karizma and Osunlade set to join the boss himself, this promises to be a world music affair like no other.

What: Dolly Surround The World
Where: Disco Dolly, Handboogstraat 11

Thursday

Steve Rachmad will be bringing his cosmic-tinged Parallel 9 alias to Studio 80 alongside revered DJs San Proper and Boris Werner. Although this is an invite-only event, we're streaming the whole thing live so be sure to tune in here from 6pm GMT.

What's Special: This party is a bit of a curveball but one that's welcomed with open arms. Dystopian is the steely, unrelenting techno label helmed by man-of-the-moment Rødhåd and Giegling is the floaty house and dreamy electronica imprint that's home to underground wonders like Edward, Traumprinz and Vril. The two aren't obvious choices for an ADE collab but we love it. For a welcomed mix of sounds and styles, this is a good shout.

What's Special: Just take a look at that line-up. It's pretty fucking special. Taking place in a dwarfing warehouse, HYTE has pulled out all the stops for ADE week. The Friday party is the most impressive of them all with the king Ricardo Villalobos taking the top spot. Craig Richards, Sonia Moonear and Margaret Dygas will all deliver the goods but with an 8am close time, you know it's going to be Ricky V causing a stir till the sun comes up.
----------

What's Special: Anyone who's been to Dekmantel Festival knows that these guys know what goes into a good party. The Dutch label and collective are local heroes and they're becoming a worldwide movement with their well co-ordinated raves and prime musical curation. For the second of their ADE parties they've invited techno badasses Ben Klock and Marcel Dettmann, two DJs who don't need an introduction. Saying that we're really pumped for Ryan Elliott back-to-back Makam, which will be three hours of absolute pace. Make way for the chunk.

Where: Mediahaven - Minervahaven, Moermanskkade 107, 1013 BC Amsterdam
Who's Playing: Seth Troxler, Apollonia, Martinez Brothers, Kerri Chandler, Black Coffee & more
What's Special: After another colossal season at DC-10 in Ibiza, the Circoloco crew will descend on Amsterdam to show the Dutch how they get down. The line-up is actually a complete joke. There's isn't really any notable name in house and techno that's been left out. It's pretty remarkable. It's always a sure-fire good time with this crew so let the likes of Troxler, Chandler and the Martinez Brothers take you to your happy place.

Who's Playing: Squarepusher, Evian Christ, Darkstar, Bambounou, Eclair Fifi
What's Special: At the end of last year we travelled to Amsterdam for the Bromance party at Paradiso. Naturally it was an epic rave with huge tunes but what really struck us was just how good the venue was. Picture a church-like space with towering ceilings, majestic chandeliers and a maze-like complex underneath. It's a sight to behold and that coupled with the mind-bending Squarepusher and Evian Christ, it's gonna be a mind-fuck of epic proportions. Warp and Lucky Me always do the business, this night will be no different.

Techno Sundays have never looked so appealing, with Nina Kraviz, Speedy J and Len Faki amongst the fire-bringers tasked with getting that last ounce of energy out of you. Heavy.
