From the UK to South Africa, Ibiza to Japan, our news desk has covered a lot of ground this year. Here are the ten news stories that you lot have shared and loved the most in 2015, according to our very scientific data.

10 No pre-recorded sets for Goldie

Goldie has never been afraid of expressing his opinion and we love him for it. Probably because what he says is generally always on point.

Calling out pre-recorded sets, he said: "See if those DJs can go back-to-back with proper DJs and roll it out for three or four hours. Send them to a five-hour set and see how their candy arses start sounding then."

That's something we'd like to see.

9 Carl Cox hates Ibiza's VIP culture

We move from Goldie calling out pre-recorded sets to Coxy having a word about Ibiza's VIP. Back in August during peak season, Carl Cox said the VIP culture was "spoiling Ibiza" and continued, "it's not just me being old, Ibiza is spoilt now."

If there's anyone entitled to an opinion on the state of Ibiza, it's probably the guy who's been playing there since day.

8 Coppers get caught

Is it bad we found this story equally hilarious and satisfying?

As we reported back in December, three Western Australia police officers tested positive for ecstasy and methamphetamine after apparently taking them at Stereosonic in Perth.

They must have been doing some research on confiscated supplies. Just to keep everyone safe.

7 Sneak only rates vinyl DJs

There's a lot of guns in gangs. So maybe it's on-brand that the self-titled House Gangster is not afraid of shooting people down or firing shots.

Among a variety of other gripes and groans coming out of Sneak's tweets, this year the long-serving DJ said in an interview that unless someone has touched vinyl, they aren't legit: "If you never touched a piece of vinyl and actually mixed that and created something with that, you're not a DJ in my eyes. I look down on people like that."

Maybe he's been watching too much of our 100% Vinyl series.

6 Ushuaïa takes control of Space

After a few hints from Coxy earlier in the year, it was confirmed that Ushuaïa would be taking charge of the the land that Space is built on.

In September the club released details of the 2016 opening party, but the rumourmill continued to churn out news nuggets.

5 Dazzling drugs

There's not much to look at in a sweaty old baggie. Pop it under a microscope and you'll see something beautiful.

A photographer from Holland took images of drugs as part of an ongoing project, Micrograph Stories, in which he uses micrography to turn things such as tears, caffeine and over-the-counter medicine into insanely stunning visuals.

Drugs have never looked so pretty.

4 Mud fucks TomorrowWorld

Never in recent history did Mother Nature fuck a festival so hard as she did with TomorrowWorld. The extreme weather meant only those camping on-site could attend the final day at Chattahoochee Hills, Atlanta and those accommodated away from the site ended up stranded outside. Ouch.

2 Amsterdam opens an ecstasy shop

In May the Dutch Liberal Democrats youth wing announced the opening the world's first MDMA shop to highlight the need for harm reduction.

They explained: "We can prevent minors from buying, make sure there is no overdose in pills and educate people on ways to minimize the risks involved with ecstasy-usage."

You gotta love the Dutch eh?!

1 South Africa's talent

We challenge you to not completely fall in love with this little DJ dude. We spotted him back in February in some YouTube videos and by November he'd won South Africa's Got Talent. And rightfully so.

Watch this space for him to be playing a Mixmag Lab soon. We hope.
