17 Objects LTD

Helmed by Lara Rix-Martin, Objects LTD is a label that’s dedicated to releasing the work of female-identified and non-binary artists. It started in the spring, dropping ‘Ringwoodite’, a record defined by the enchanting voice of its creator, Ewa Bowman. Rix-Martin also put out ‘Cyclizine’ under her Lux E Tenebris alias, offering an EP of wayward techno shot through with bright bursts of light.

The label also got its hands on some tracks by Ziur, who handed in the type of imaginative club music that’s made her one of the most prominent new producers of ‘16 (her ‘Deeform’ EP would be Objects LTD’s first physical release, too). But perhaps best of all was ‘MPC 7635’ by severely overlooked Chicago footwork producer Jana Rush, in her Ja Ru guise. One of few female artists working in the genre, her space age compositions are some of the best in the footwork business.

Rix-Martin is obviously adept at finding talent in the depths of the underground and you’d be wise to follow Objects LTD’s movements further. S Wheeler
