In September, Mixmag and The Smirnoff Project presented by Smirnoff Lemon Pop Non Alcoholic launched a new global edition of our legendary DJ streaming series – The Lab – with multiple events across different Indian cities. With parties in Goa, Kolkata, Bengaluru, and Gurgaon featuring the best Indian and international talent, the latest season of The Lab India boasts a strong roster with a focus on inclusivity and diversity.

As we continue with the new season, October saw The Lab India travel to Goa, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Pune. Goa's edition featured a set from South African producer and vocalist Jordan Arts, who brought his signature live performance combining live vocals and saxophone over his DJ set. This was followed by a performance from Canada's Ciel, who delivered a unique vinyl set that seamlessly blended both hard and hypnotic sounds. Kolkata saw one of their local heroes at his best, 8-Bit Culprit, who delivered a mix of diverse genres and styles, taking the crowd on an unforgettable journey.

Next up we headed to Bengaluru, where London resident Skeptical threw down a legendary performance showcasing why he's truly a veteran drum ‘n’ bass producer and DJ, one of the best in the game. This was followed by The Lab Gurgaon with Nida, who played a groovy and funky house set that featured pop edits and club classics. In The Lab Mumbai and The Lab Pune, we brought Indian trailblazers Sickflip and Stalvart John respectively. Sickflip delivered his signature style of high energy Afro house and percussion-forward dance music to set the club ablaze, while Stalvart packed the dancefloor, showing why he’s truly one of the most revered house and disco artists in the country.

Our shows this season are incomplete without some important discussions from our artists. They gave their thoughts on the 'We Do We' campaign by The Smirnoff Project presented by The Smirnoff Lemon Pop Non Alcoholic - a project championing the power of collective unity and advocating for a more inclusive society where individual differences are celebrated rather than marginalised. Stay tuned at The Smirnoff Project to see what the artists discussed.
