A guide to all the stage takeovers for Stone Techno Festival 2025
With around 70% of its crowd coming from outside of Germany, this three-day techno knees-up has enlisted a diverse range of crews to appear at this year's festival
There's still a few months before Stone Techno Festival kicks off its fourth edition, which will take over the Zollverein - a UNESCO World Heritage-protected former coal mine in Essen, Germany across July 11-13.
Promising “unparalleled experience in one of the world’s most striking post-industrial settings," Stone Techno is set to welcome some of the biggest names in breakneck techno and bass, with Ben Klock, Aurora Halal, Zenker Brothers, CCL, Tasha, DJ Nobu, Ogazón, Helena Hauff, BASHKKA and many more all featuring on this year's line-up. Organised by German label Third Room, Stone Techno 2025 will feature sets across four stages at the Zollverein, alongside a series of night time events at Weststadthalle Essen — a concert hall in the heart of the city.

With the aim of bringing together the global techno scene, Stone Techno has partnered with a diverse range of collectives, crews and institutions for takeovers across its three-day programme. Find out more about each one below.
Delirium and GITTER
For its night events at Weststadthalle Essen, Stone Techno has teamed up with two promoters who are helping to push forward Essen's burgeoning scene. Delirium is a regular fixture at Essen's Goethebunker, throwing parties on the last Friday of every month with past bookings including Tbilisi scene legend Uväll, all-vinyl maestro Carmen Electro and the haunting melodics of Mara Menace. They'll join GITTER, a protest-meets-rave collective with experience in throwing knock-out parties throughout Essen — including at the Zollverein, where last year they threw a huge all-dayer featuring Carista, Kangding Ray, dc11 and Pietzke.
"GITTER collective is incredibly excited about the opportunity to participate in this year's Stone Techno Festival and to host the second night event at the Weststadthalle together with our friends from the Delirium collective," the team behind Gitter told Mixmag.
"Gitter started with illegal raves in the forest, where we handed out cheap beer from holes in the ground filled with ice and played on a tiny Hercules controller. To now find ourselves in the middle of this international production feels surreal," they continue. "While it can certainly be seen as a great success, it must also remain our goal to foster the sense of community and intimacy we all experienced back then, in the forest, between morning dew and strobe lights."
FOLD
This one needs little introduction; a verified London nightlife institution, Canning Town's FOLD has grown from small-scale warehouse venue to a European authority in underground techno since it first opened its doors in August 2018. While its incredible soundsystem and unique layout have given it the edge over many of the UK capital's other nightspots, its in-house UNFOLD parties have positioned it as a must-visit destination.
FOLD will be hosting Stone Techno's Werkschwimmbad Floor at the Zollverein on Sunday. "With current state of affairs I find it very important to build bridges between UK and European cities," says FOLD's co-founder Lasha Jorjoliani. "Educational or cultural engagement brings wider understanding of the importance of the roots we stand on."

"When we started working on this collaboration it was clear from the dot how much work and care is going into Stone Techno Festival and we can't wait to explore it further," he continues. "From day one we’ve been very vocal about connecting dots and uniting everyone under one huge cultural umbrella and Stone Techno Festival is a perfect playground for it, with its hardworking and deeply dedicated team."

Fuse
Storied Brussels nightclub Fuse will also be joining the action at Stone Techno Festival 2025, hosting the Kokerei Floor on Sunday (July 13). Fresh off celebrating its 30th anniversary last year, the Belgian nightclub and label will be bringing along resident Altinbas for a special b2b with Phara, a vinyl extravaganza from Marie-Julie and live sets from Aurora Halal and Dold, Markus Suckut — all joined by Markus Suckut and Temudo.

Laster
Spanish promoter Laster is on-hand for Stone Techno's fourth floor, the Salzlager on Friday (July 11). Usually found at the Bassmnt Club in Madrid, Laster has become the go-to for full-throttle sonics in the Spanish capital with recent bookings including Anfisa Letyago, Joseph Capriati and D.Dan.
For its showcase at Stone Techno, Laster will be bringing along residents Anabel Arroyo and Roll Dann for a b2b, ahead of a live set from Austrian-born, Berlin-based producer Arthur Robert. DVS1, who recently undertook an all-night long at Laster, will also appear during its Friday takeover alongside another b2b between techno up-start Fadi Mohem and Philippa Pacho.
"For me, as for the rest of the Laster core team, Stone Techno Festival is a highlight every year, as we’ve been going as ravers for years," says Laster's Germán Toca Font. "This year, even more so, because we have the opportunity to contribute our part. It’s a festival we love not only for its crazy location and dope lineup, but because we love the diversity of people we meet there! We can’t wait."

Mutual Rytm
SHDW's label Mutual Rytm will be bringing a slice of Stuttgart to Stone Techno's first floor, the Salzlager, on Saturday (July 12) showcasing the imprint's knack for fast-paced, genre-bending sonics with a line-up featuring some of the genre's leading figures.
Neighbourhood boss Tasha will be going head-to-head with Swiss powerhouse Deetron during the takeover, while founder SHDW is set to go b2b with Madrid's Stojche. Elsewhere Human Safari will be bringing his vaulting live set to the Zollverein's masses — who will also be treated to some raw techno power from Duel Club resident Rebecca delle Piane and high-octane slam from Bulgarian rave icons KiNK and raredub.

WSNWG
Rounding off our list of stage takeovers, techno juggernaut Rødhåd will be bringing his WSNWG imprint to Stone Techno 2025 across Friday (July 11). The festival promises an "immersive collaboration" on the Eisbahn Floor for this takeover, which will be opened by a b2b DJ set between tresor resident Mareena and Italian techno craftsman Neel – before descending into an eight-hour live set from Ignez, Jako Jako, Lady Starlight, UFO95 and Rødhåd himself.
