Seven epic techno tracks that'll get you in the mood for SMS
This is the name of the game at SMS
Next week Mixmag will be heading to SMS Festival in Germany to bring you some massive sets straight from The Smirnoff House.
We'll have the likes of Roman Flügel, Dave Clarke and Mathias Kaden laying down some pure house party vibes so to get you in the mood here are seven epic techno tracks. Let's go.
1 Caribou 'I Can't Do Without You' (Tale Of Us & Mano Le Tough remix)
Caribou's 'I Can't Do Without You' is something of a modern classic and so is this remix, by Mano Le Tough and SMS headliners Tale Of Us.
Mano and the TOS boys pearl out a euphoric remake which'll have you floating into the clouds within 60 seconds.
2 Roman Flügel 'Candy Crack'
Roman Flügel is a master craftsman when it comes to DJ sets, taking dancers on a journey into the dark arts of house, techno and acid.
He's not bad on the buttons either and 'Candy Crack' gives you an insight into his late night style, equal parts bug-eyed paranoia and pure beauty. Good news: we'll be filming his Lab set at Smirnoff House for Mixmag TV.
3 Gui Boratto 'No Turning Back'
Kompakt is a label renowned for epic techno and one of its torchbearers is Brazilian maestro Gui Boratto.
This is one of his older tunes but it's a classic, a mesmerising excursion that paved the way for much of the cinematic dance music being made today.
4 Andhim & Super Flu 'Mr. Bass'
Both Andhim and Super Flu play SMS, bringing their lively modern house music to the festival fields.
Make sure to catch them in The Lab at Smirnoff House and keep an ear out for 'Mr. Bass' which is a certified banger.
5 Patrice Bäumel 'Vertigo'
Patrice Bäumel is another quality Kompakt signing, specialising in focused, tingly techno.
Catch him at the label's showcase alongside a raft of other on-point artists.
6 Booka Shade feat Fritz Kalkbrenner 'Crossing Borders' (Booka's Other remix)
Fritz Kalkbrenner is a hero in his native Germany so his performance at SMS is bound to go off.
This link up with Booka Shade is awesome and just a little insight into the levels he's capable of hitting.
7 WhoMadeWho 'Hiding In Darkness'
WhoMadeWho are an OG electroclash outfit who have been doing the rounds ever since we can remember, and with good reason too.
Their style straddles live band and incendiary production unit, so their SMS set should be very interesting indeed.
