Tune of the month
Steve Hill, Technikal & Yoz 'Keep On Rockin’ (RVRS BASS)
Every now and then, a track lands that perfectly combines a number of different elements. ‘Keep On Rockin’ is definitely one to add to that list, courtesy of Steve Hill, Technikal and Yoz, who are three of the best hard dance names around. With it’s gorgeous breakdown of swirling pads, pianos and a Masif hands-to-the-sky riff that sticks in your head, it all switches up to the drop of big reverse bass. This is hardstyle at it’s most pounding and energetic, and a certain set-smasher for any time of the night.

Digital Punk & Radical Redemption 'Protest Of Indignation' (Scantraxx)
Two hardstyle greats meet on this vocal-heavy banger. It’s dark, dirty and sinister, with a big compressed riff that adds to its aggressive manner, while the political message that’s spoken through the break works perfectly with the female rap samples chopping up through the rest of the track. A great blend of styles and a perfect collab which showcases both artists’ strengths.
7/10
Nicky Wilson 'No Escape' (Tempo Trax)
Great feel-good hardhouse here by Nicky Wilson that ignores anything too hard-hitting or overly complicated in favour of some good-quality dancefloor fodder which should work well in the London clubs. The breakdown features a massive female vocal drenched over a piano and pad combo, all building perfectly into the drop.
8/10
Mike Taylor & Hilly 'Killer Beat' (Chucky remix) (Supercharged)
We’ve always been a fan of the Hoover sound being used properly in songs and this a great example, with multiple patterns bouncing off one another in a great bout of question-and-answer production. The breakdown isn’t much to write about, constantly building with little vocal chops, but while the drop could have been a lot more creative it’ll certainly keep things rocking along and your floor moving. Releases like this aren’t particularly game-changing, but can still pad out a playlist perfectly.
7/10
Miss Detonate 'Carry On' (Cheeky Tracks)
Named after the use of samples from the Carry On films (something we never thought we’d write here), Miss Detonate has delivered a fun, high-energy and cheeky hardhouse track. From the up-and-down bassline and vocal chops to the chopped-up riff and driving percussion, this is what having fun on the dancefloor is all about.
8/10
Fallon 'We Are One' (Klubbed Up)
The newest signing to the Klubbed Up stable, Fallow has been working his way through the hardcore scene at a frantic pace and is now really starting to make waves now in 2016. ‘We Are One’ is a solid track with lots of drive and energy, and what he lacks in technique is sure to be ironed out as he learns more in the studio.
7/10
Energy Syndicate 'Gonna Fly' (Synergy Trax)
Energy Syndicate has steered his Synergy label in a tougher direction recently, and this is the imprint’s biggest track to date. The vocal in the breakdown is nice and, coupled with a big EDM-style lead bend, makes everything feel euphoric until the drop arrives and tears your eardrums out of your head, stomps them into the floor and asks if you want more... which you obviously do.
