Mixmag has featured charts from many talented artists for our Selects series, including Mr. G, Modeselektor, Simian Mobile Disco and Kevin Saunderson among others. This week, we welcome a duo known both individually and together as Way Out West, a group made up of Nick Warren and Jody Wisternoff who have been creating together for over 20 years.

Well known for their 1996 hits 'The Gift' (familiar to some as the theme song of MTV's wildly popular show 'True Life'), 'Ajare' and 'Domination', the UK duo are a rare pair that have also found success individually as well. Nick Warren oversees the Sound Garden label and has also contributed an impressive record-breaking eight Global Underground mixes while Jody remains a staple of the Anjunadeep imprint.

Their fifth studio album, announced earlier this year, will be 'Tuesday Maybe' and is due out on June 16 on Anjunadeep. Ahead of the impending release, Way Out West joined us for a Selects to dive into a selection of their favorite rising stars and up-and-coming acts of the moment.

Sentre 'Sunshine'

'Sunshine' is a perfect combination of sun-drenched sultry chords, dubby sub bass and beats aimed firmly at the dance floor. It's deep house as it's finest! - Jody

Baime 'The Damned'

Sadly, 'The Damned' is not named after the 70's punk band, but a delicious slice of proggy techno with a wicked Middle Eastern clarinet style lead line. - Nick

Sure Thing 'Special Love'

DJ Die continues his impeccable replication of 70's boogie with this latest outing. It's clearly influenced by Chaka Khan, but done with so much finesse. The track comes with a brilliant video too! - Jody

Sex Of Insects 'Song Of Trees' (Anatoly Ylotana Snowflakes Remix)

It's so hard to pigeonhole this one. It's part indie, part tribal and equipped with a killer vocal. - Nick

Tontario 'Revenge'

'Revenge' is delicate, well thought out electronica and deep house with chords that could make a grown man cry. Tontario is one of my favourite artists on Anjunadeep right now. He's got a bright future ahead. - Jody

Township Rebellion 'Liquid Green'

This track is a monster-rattling, end of the night destroyer. Think Tale Of Us... but on steroids! - Nick

Piezo 'Opeq'

This is dreamy low-key house music from one of Bristol's hottest labels Idle Hands. It has haunting qualities that remind me of Burial's earlier work. - Jody

Casino Times 'Carlotta' (Al Zanders Remix)

Perfect road trip music. This remix has late night, sleazy vibes with groovy keys. It makes the people dance! - Nick

Mareen Sukie 'The Theme'

'The Theme' is a slinky, low-slung broken beat groover with mid 90s bukem era jungle overtones. This Bristol label Banoffee Pies is showing a lot of promise! - Jody

Basic Forces 'Your Love'

Amazing and epic Drum and Bass on this one. Those strings are to die for! 'Your Love' always gets everyone dancing in the Warren household. - Nick
