Hamburg native Matthias Meyer is joining the party on the West Coast very soon for the upcoming Oregon Eclipse festival to celebrate and witness a once-in-a-lifetime total solar eclipse on Monday, August 21 that can only be witnessed from a certain stretches across North America.

The festival, which takes place from August 17 through 23, will host a slew of people from all around to witness the stunning solar eclipse, which is rumored to not only be a stunning sight (total darkness in the middle of the day), but also have a strange effects on animals and humans too.

Catch Matthias Meyer at Oregon Eclipse on August 18 and later on in LA on August 19, in Miami for Do Not Sit on the Furniture on September 29 in Miami and Cityfox in New York on September 30.

To prepare for the event, Meyer has contributed an extensive playlist of tunes to soundtrack the moments leading up to the solar eclipse. Get into it below.

Butch 'Sharhzad' (Matthias Meyer Remix)

"I was always a big fan of the original, but I can't get enough of the lovely, emotional main part with the pads/strings and the very spiritual sounding flute melody, which is only featured in the break and never again. I was actually thinking of the Robot Heart stage at Burning Man in the desert of Nevada when created this. I think it fits really well."

Lee Burridge & Matthew Dekay 'Lost In a Moment' (Dixon Edit)

" When I think about the desert, dunes and oases and put this image into music, THIS is THE track. I will never forget the moment when I played a sunrise set in the middle of the desert in Morocco. This was a magical moment!"

Pig & Dan and MEMO 'Viking Princess'

"This is truly a Matthias Meyer classic. I played this one at least at every second or third gig since it came out three years ago. I like the dramatic strings and the straight forward groove."

Matthias Meyer 'November Rain'

"It took me more than three years to finish this beauty. I had a rough version for a long time, but could never find the missing hook. One day, I discovered the iPad as a musical instrument, downloaded the moog app and just went with it. I let the beat run and slide with my fingers over the display to play the main flute-like melody and recorded it straight away and used it like it was. That’s a moment I really love when making music. This is one of my fave tracks I ever made."

Traumer 'Triade'

"I don’t know why, but this one really reminds me of the big hit ‘Time’ from Pachanga Boys. It’s kinda endless and has a super emotional driving beat that never ends. Especially the break which sounds like the end of the track – it will totally give you goosebumps! If I ever play Burning Man, I will play this one, 100,000%!"

Filburt, Mikesh 'Philipp Dolphia'

"People sometimes call me a romantic guy or romantic DJ, especially when I play this in the last 30 min of my sets. This track is just love!"

Matthew Dekay 'Heimreise'

"Matthew is one of my favourite producers and actually an amazing engineer and composer. Shame he doesn’t release much. This one is still unreleased, and I think it will never be released. This is probably one of the best tracks I've ever heard in my life and it fits to my style. It has everything I wish for - it's super dramatic, emotional, it has strings and a super powerful, hypnotic house-y groove. That's the kind of music I am always searching for."

Gorje Hewek & Izhevski 'Turgoyakk'

"I’m a big fan of the music from these two Russian guys. I play almost every track at the beginning of my sets. This one, they did exclusively for my Watergate Mix CD last year. It's so dreamy and has a great movie soundtrack touch, which I love and inspires me and my music too."

Sydenham Ferrer 'Timbuktu' (Ame Remix)

"An awesome remix of an old Sydenham and Dennis Ferrer classic. I actually like Ame’s version more. It's hard to remember a sunrise moment where I have not played it. You can get really lost with this one, especially when the flute is coming in and of course, when the main melody shows up at the end."

Traumprinz '2 Bad' (DJ Metatron's What If Madness Is Our Only Relief Mix)

"Last but not least, the best track in the world! Every time when I am sad or happy or in love - which can be a fine line - I’m listening to this one. I just can’t describe this master piece."
