Forget the holidays - for many, October brings all the holiday spirit one needs for the entire year with the impending arrival of Halloween at the tail end of the month.

For those lucky enough to reside in the city of Los Angeles, tickets are hopefully already acquired for what's been known year after year as one of the premier Halloween-season parties: Minimal Effort.

Renowned for embracing the best of house and techno talents, Minimal Effort's annual Halloween installation for 2017 has already locked in major names like Dusky, MK, Brodinski, Damian Lazarus, Lee Burridge, Claptone and more.

To get you into the perfectly spooky spirit, headliner Claptone has offered up 10 of his favorite Halloween-tinged tracks ahead of the show. At Minimal Effort, Claptone plans to make the anticipated Los Angeles debut of his Masquerade show.

In addition, to celebrate recently hitting one million fans on Facebook, Claptone is giving his iconic golden masks away for free until October 20. Grab your own Claptone mask just in time for Halloween here with the code 1MILLION.

Angelo Badalamenti 'Laura Palmer’s Theme' (Instrumental)

"This is the perfect intro for any playlist and especially for a playlist around Halloween. I have always been one for setting the mood first."

Mihalis Safras 'Phenomenon'

"I have a weak spot for reminiscing, looking back to the good old days when Armand Van Helden brought us 'The Funk Phenomenon'... even though this track here, of course, is totally different and has nothing to do with that phenomenon."

Claptone 'The Drums' (Din Daa Daa)

"'The Drums' is my summer single and even though the summer is gone, I still like to freak out to this track and play my imaginary air drums, Cozy Powell style."

Jad & The 'Strings That Never Win'

"Not sure why strings never win, or why people always say 'No Strings Attached'. I love strings and this is a very good example of why."

Siege 'My Lady'

"Why not add a touch of French House? Another take on this classic like this never gets boring."

Format B 'The Scoop'

"This bouncy club weapon - with its crazy main melody - reminds me of the good old days of the Fairlight synth when Art of Noise, Yello, The Pet Shop Boys and everyone were using this magic machine, pre-sample age."

Freiboitar 'There Must Be Something' (Radio Edit)

"There must be something with this tune. Something magic, something that makes me like it so much. It's very hard for me to put my finger on it, and that is not because I wear gloves.

Yes, I am in a very positive mood today."

Claptone 'I Write Your Name' (Emmanuel Satie Remix)

"We should all boogie much more, and this remix of a ballad from my first album 'Charmer' helps. Basted on an infectious disco boogie loop, this one packs every dance floor out, leaving behind nothing but smiles."

Greco 'Be' (Klangkuenstler Remix) feat. Rowetta

"This is a two in one, meaning I played the original of the track for quite some time and now one of my favourite remixers spiced it up with a chord."

Phuture 'Your Only Friend'

"A classic for Halloween by the legendary Phuture... who is only about three or four centuries younger than me."
