Listen to a playlist of UK garage curated by Reader
UKG heat to soundtrack your summer
Reader recently released the single ‘Say It Like You Mean It’, a sincere and bright pop tune that arrived alongside a DIY video shot in her own home with footage from 90s raves projected onto the walls.
The South London-based artist made the clip during lockdown alongside housemates Catty T, Daniel Baragwanath and Chelsea Howard. She said: “I wanted it to be an ode to all the events we can’t go to right now because of lockdown … I guess the sentiment is that even though we can’t physically be with our friends / loved ones right now, we’re together in spirit.”

The video is reflective of how Reader has been coping with lockdown: rinsing UK garage bangers while raving in the living room. Sounds idyllic, right? And now she’s sharing the vibes with us all in the form of a 15-track playlist packed with UKG heat.
"During lockdown, my housemates and I have been keeping ourselves sane / insane by having living room raves - we've got some decks set up and have been going to Zoom parties (shout out Club Quarantine). I've been listening to way more club music than I normally would, probably just because I miss being out, and I CAN'T STOP watching DJ EZ sets on YouTube. Can't go wrong with a bit of UKG!" said Reader.
