A masterclass in euphoria

His debut release 'Equation' arrived on Asquith's Lobster Theremin imprint shortly after his move to Berlin in 2013. Taking vintage cues from Chicago and Detroit and infusing them with an exuberant synth hook on the title track, it stood out as one of the finest releases of that year, setting LT off on the prolific hot-streak that has since seen it rocket into prominence.

This playful attitude that pervades Palms Trax's artistic and personal identity has endeared him to many. He landed a radio residency on Berlin Community Radio days after arriving in the city, and won a place at the 2014 Red Bull Music Academy in Tokyo after listing one of his top life moments as "chopping a wart off my knee with a pair of scissors", while other people were putting "'going to see Theo Parrish, or something", he told RA.

It was in Japan that he produced the track 'Sumo Acid Crew' which would later feature on his first EP with Dekmantel, after the renowned Dutch imprint joined the list of suitors taking a shine to Palms Trax and locked him in for a number of releases, the second of which arrives on Monday.

He's also stepped up his DJing to become a consistent highlight on any bill he features on, with this Dekmantel relationship affording the opportunity to hone his skills at a number of high profile gigs.

We've seen him grow from opening Room 2 in a converted slaughterhouse in Manchester to performing the set of the night at the gigantic Warehouse Project venue at Dekmantel's debut in the city this past October, and also play brilliantly in the main room of Dekmantel's recent collaborative party with The Hydra in London.

His In Session mix combines upbeat house and funk with grittier, bass-driven selections, drawing from artists such as Move D, Sueno Latino, Porn Sword Tobacco, Peverelist and Stellar OM Source. It's a masterclass in conjuring euphoria and danceability, check it out below.
