Oskar Offermann & Edward
Lose yourself in a stunning mix by Oskar Offermann and Edward
Germany is home to a slew of excellent record labels, many pushing a super-deep and mystical sound. Two in particular – Giegling and White – are leading the way with quality releases.
Two of the most prominent artists that work within these labels are Oskar Offermann and Edward. Offermann has been running White Records since it began back in 2005 and he's been working very closely with Edward, a fellow German responsible for two stunning albums, one via White and the other via Giegling.
Artists on the White roster include promising new talent such as Cleveland, Vid Vai, Nu, Einzelkind and Robin Scholz, all of whom bring something different to the table while maintaining the same forward-thinking ethos.
Edward's second album has just dropped via Giegling and has been met with critical acclaim for its constantly changing direction and hypnotic production. Offermann too is edging closer to releasing his second album, which should drop next year, and after his stellar 2012 debut in the form of 'Do Pilots Still Dream Of Flying?', we're suitably excited.
The two often play together and always bring a melancholic but warped take on dance music, seamlessly drifting between floaty, groove-fuelled house and intriguing side-winding techno.
We're thrilled to have the two compile an In Session mix for us and this is one of the most inventive hours we've ever received. Tracks by the illusive Prince Of Denmark, DJ Qu and, of course, some out-there underground cuts will help you delve deep into the pair's vision.
